When I dreamed of an ideal night market in Taiwan, this is what came to mind. Then last weekend, my wife recommended we go there. I’ve never heard of it because there’s no information.
When I tried finding information, I kept getting results of a Xing Ren Night Market in Taoyuan that looks similar to this one. Don’t confuse the two. Apparently it’s a chain of night markets, that for some reason have the same name…
Sing Ren Night Market is by far the largest night market in Northern Taiwan at 12 acres. It’s home to 600 stalls, 500 of which have food stands, carnival-style games, and shops for accessories and clothing.
Every vendor must provide visitors with filtered water, compostable bags, and environmentally-friendly chopsticks. And all vendors must carry out health checks 3 times a week to ensure cleanliness.
I can’t summarize in 20 words what you can do at this night market (unlike most Taiwanese night markets). For instance, there’s the Happy Kingdom. It’s a play area with pinball, bingo, mahjong, painting, shops, bumper cars, a million crane machines, and various arcade games.
One of the parts allows you to play games for tickets. Then exchange those tickets for prizes.
Then there’s Gourmet Paradise, which is all the food stalls.
Let’s talk about them.
